About

Margaret Freeman

Margaret is a native of Oregon and first learned to ride on an island in the middle of the Columbia River, where there was a riding academy.  Margaret has a degree in Dramatic Literature from Mills College and a Masters in Journalism from the University of Missouri.  She worked at newspapers and as a free-lance writer/editor for 50 years and has been a dressage judge for 35 years.  Margaret also enjoys agility with her Corgi; hanging out at her old barn; reading; and working out at 6 a.m. (to keep her legs working, because she always wakes up at 5 a.m.).

Margaret has been involved in Dressage4Kids since 1999 when she judged at the very first Youth Dressage Festival.

Margaret continues to take an active part in Dressage4Kids through the Board of Directors, judging at the Youth Dressage Festival, presenting for D4K UP (Unmounted Programs), teaching TEAM Clinics, and anything else that comes up.

When asked what motivates her most about Dressage4Kids, Margaret writes, "I really like all the people, adults and kids, and just plain enjoy it."
